Responsibilities: Research and Development:

       Novel control strategies and algorithms based on the non-stationary gas dynamics equations and global optimization concepts resolve the disadvantages of steepest descent optimization methods both in avoiding false solutions and computational efficiency. The simulation system allows the user to specify the whole compressor station configuration and detailed description of each gas pumping unit operational characteristics, piping layout, valves characteristics and to define optimization objectives.
     The simulation system is based on the adaptive concept, thus providing the highest level of integrability with existing compressor station/workshop control systems. The proposed simulation system allows modeling the compressor station operation within the gas main hydraulically coupled with external complex pipeline network including supplies and takeoffs and another compressor stations.
     The new GAZPROM business strategy of the gas transmission system development required unification and standardization of the control system that are made by different producers. This assumes the integration of different type of devices into single system. The new generation of Vega-LTD control systems based on client-server architecture has better performances and allows joining devices via wide class of protocols (parallel and serial ports, TCP/IP, ModBus, etc.).


Results:

       The model of compressor station operating within the gas main under the steady state or transient regimes is developed using object-oriented approach (with
C++ language) and is joined with SCADA (InTouch Wonderware product). On this basis, the additional regulation and optimization modules of the control system are developed and validated in the on-line and off-line regimes. As result, the developed software and hardware has been implemented into operation at the gas workshop Chaikovskaya and Ordinskaya (Russia). Exploitation has shown excellent stability and cost reduction.
       The new control system based of client-server architecture with applying the Wonderware products is developed and established to work at the gas workshops Myskin, Gryazovets, Voskresensk, Tuma and others (all in Russia).
